This is the best Bhutanese Restaurant in Kalimpong, they serve authentic food from Bhutan and taste of the food is very good. People not have having palate of Bhutanese food can also try and enjoy the meal. They have different style of sitting and seperate space for monks to dine. Taste is good, dinning space is peaceful with great view, staff is friendly and courteous. One should definitely try.
A Hidden Bhutanese Gem in Kalimpong! Za Khang is an absolute must-visit for anyone looking to experience authentic Bhutanese flavors in Kalimpong! From the moment we stepped in, the warm hospitality and cozy ambiance set the perfect mood for our meal. We tried the Langsha Juma, Phaksha Paa, and Phaksha Datshi, all of which were paired with Itshum (red rice)--a recommendation that turned out to be spot on! The balance of flavors, the perfect spice level (we went for spicy), and the richness of Bhutanese cuisine shone through in every bite. Each dish had a unique taste, yet they all complemented one another beautifully. What stood out the most was the attention to customization--you can choose between mild, spicy, or extreme heat levels, making it perfect for every kind of palate. We went for spicy, and it was just the right kick without being overpowering. Overall, Za Khang is a true culinary delight for anyone craving Bhutanese food. Highly recommend it, and we'll definitely be back!
Authentic bhutanese food...taste is very good.. restaurant is clean with a great mountain view...located near kalimpong market..price is also reasonable..they serve buffet on the weekends from 10-1 pm...price of buffet is rs 300 for veg and rs 350 for non veg
Had a pleasant experience dining at the place. Have always wanted to try Bhutanese food. We ordered Jaju, Shamu Datshi ( mushrooms & cheese), Juma ( meat sausage), Jatsha paa (chicken & veggies with chilli and spices). We liked all the dishes, especially Shamu Datshi. If you're expecting typical indian or indo chinese flavour profiles, then you're in the wrong place. Although the service was quick, we wish they were more hospitable.
This place has a wonderful vibe. Love the food here. Ate to my heart's content. Amazing quality and quantity of food here. Out of the 3 days in Kalimpong, i ate here 4 times. They also play some videos of Bhutanese culture. So nice and soothing as well.
