Hotel Gompus Kalimpong

We had lunch at the restaurant. It's at the most busiest part of the town, so parking nearby is a difficulty. Food is good, ambience nice and staff are very prompt and courteous. Suggest to opt for Nepali or Chinese cuisine, those are prepared very tasty...

The hotel is located just above the kalimpong bus stand. From the bus stand it is just 20 meters. Just beside the main market of kalimpong city. Most visited place industrial park also near by from the hotel. Lots of food options are available. Cafe coffee day also there , dominos also near by & with in walkable distance. Hotel Gompus have their own restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel. They had served nonveg dishes as well as liquor. The rate was reasonable as per the food quality. We have booked the the hotel @1200/- for a night. Check out time of the hotel is 12 pm. They provide two glasses & RO water mug. Need to provide a heater during the winter season. They shut the gate at 10 pm. If you go out side just remember to collect the reception number Or else there is only one way, above the gate there are two numbers of owner, u have to dial, this is the only bad part of the hotel. Staff was supportive & fully helpful with all time simple.

Review is about the restaurant only. What a nice vibe to the restaurant. Thoroughly loved the food and music here. The guy at the bar counter who manages the music they play played excellent songs and on request he played my fav band too. The ever smiling man and the young lady recommend and explain dishes and the chef produces lovely lip smacking food on your table. I went for lunch twice in 2 days with my family here and all of us loved the food. We tried Chicken Momo, Ting Momo with Pork Shyapta and Chicken Shyapta, Pork Fried rice, Pork in Oyster sauce, Chicken manchow fried rice. All of them are recommended. My personal favourite was pork fried rice. Will go again if and when I visit Kalimpong again. Located just at the clock tower/Damber chowk. The restroom needs cleaning though!

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in May 2024. The location is great. It is in the heart of the city. The receptionist is nice, friendly and helpful. The only difficult thing here is that we wake up at 6.00 AM every day, but the hotel door is locked and receptionists are still sleeping, so we feel bad if we have to wake them up to open the door for us. The room we stayed is big and has 2 big windows looking down the Clock Tower. It is very interesting to see street life from our room. Kalimpong is an old and busy town. There are many shops and restaurants around this hotel. It is also very close to the taxi and bus stand. We can just walk 200m to buy the ticket to other city.

More expensive than its contemporaries but the food , especially the pork momo is excellent.
