Cafe Kalimpong

A lovely cafe tucked away in the hills--Cafe Kalimpong truly lives up to its name with its scenic location and cozy charm. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, enhanced by tasteful interior decor that adds to its hill-town vibe. The staff were courteous and attentive, ensuring a smooth and pleasant experience. We appreciated the prompt service, along with the provision of drinking water, plates, and cutlery without needing to ask. The menu had a wide range of bakery items to choose from. It would be even better if they introduced more croissant varieties in the future. The food items we tried were fresh and flavorful, and the hot beverages--particularly the cappuccino and latte--were nicely presented with latte art. While the coffee itself wasn't extraordinary, it was definitely satisfying and commendable for a hill station setting. A functional wash basin was also available, which added to the overall comfort. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Kalimpong and looking to enjoy a quiet, well-curated cafe experience.

Visited July 30, 2025 - Day 27 in India Came for dinner here with my family and my friend's family. The cafe is in a beautiful location with stunning views, making it a lovely spot to unwind after a long day of travel and sightseeing. We ordered the pork keema noodles, pork momo steamed, pork momo pan fried, French fries, and iced coffee. The pork keema noodles were okay, the flavor was mild, nothing wow but not bad either. The steamed pork momo was different than what we are used to: very thick skin which made the texture a little heavy, and it masked some of the filling's flavor. The pan fried pork momo had a similar issue, and since it was ordered mainly for the kids, the extra chili oil drizzled on top felt unnecessary and made it a bit too spicy for them. The French fries were decent, crispy edges, soft inside, but nothing to rave about. The iced coffee was refreshing, which was nice, especially as the evening cooled down. Service was inattentive. We had to wait longer than expected before someone took our order, and getting refills or even checking if everything was okay took a lot of effort. It felt like staff were stretched or distracted. Overall we left a bit underwhelmed. The location and views are definitely highlights, but the food and service didn't quite match what we hoped for.

Ordered watermelon juice, burgers, pizza etc for lunch which was excellent. However for dinner we ordered local menu which we didn't like. Location is great and views stunning. Staff is well behaved. Has a waiting time of 20-25 mins. Prices appeared reasonable. Cafe takes last order at 7.30 for dinner.

A must visit place when you are at Kalimpong. It offers a great ambiance with a stunning view. Food was good , we tried the ting momo with smoked pork, chicken steam momos, BBQ chicken wings, laphing. Except laphing, everything else was quite good.
