I wish I could say food and service was good but it was a nightmare. 1. THE FOOD: Food testing went fine, breakfast (aloo parathe) were bad but meals were reasonably good. As soon as I paid for the month, meals too got sloppy. They sent me stale dal one day (so 2 dals and no veggie for dinner, who does that?!) and then argued that it was actually a dry veggie. Then, one day they sent me a khichdi sort of thing for lunch which wasn't edible at all and not what we had discussed before tying up. And communication sucks and it's confusing as their entire family seems involved in this, so I simply told them 'no food for me' couple of times just because who will get into an argument with them? 2. THE HYGIENE: Post the monthly commitment, true packaging showed up. Received food in dirty utensils, disposable plastic containers (which are actually meant for one time use and dangerous if hot food is poured in them again), chapatis covered with a newspaper. Yuckkk. 3. THE MONEY: They are very weird and rude about the money. One, they wanted cash for everything and two, they couldn't even wait for the door to close. And then when I confirmed for the month on 6th Aug, they wanted a month's payment in advance. I haven't seen monthly advances anywhere else and I have lived across this vast country but I paid up because till now meals and packaging were alright and I thought maybe this how Doon works. And as I said, that's when it got ugly. I stopped the service on 12th Aug and asked for a refund and I don't know about them but it was super embarrassing for me following up for a few thousands for so long. First they told me end of August because they had spent it. After that I started following up more often and they sent half of owed by mid Sept. Then I corrected them on the amount they actually owed me (ethical me, they would have paid more otherwise) and imagined them giving back the 980 rupees sooner. But, after massive follow ups, finally got it back by end Sept. Nightmare. Save yourself.
