A couple of days ago, I was dropping someone off at the Agra Cantonment railway station, and while returning, I spontaneously spotted this roadside eatery. Coincidentally, it was morning, and I hadn't had any breakfast yet. Located just 200 meters from the railway station, this eatery sits on an encroached footpath, which means by dining here, you're technically partaking in an illegal activity. I stopped by, inquired about the menu, and ordered vada-sambar, guiliappam-sambar, and mix-veg uttapam. Given its roadside location, the atmosphere was dusty, and I had to deal with mosquitoes and flies constantly buzzing around. Surprisingly, the quality of the food was quite good for the price. It is somewhat akin to the authentic Uduppi style in taste & texture. However, I noticed the main cook picking his nose and then continuing to cook with the same hand. Additionally, one or two of the helpers were themselves eating and wandering around the cooking area, which made the overall visual appeal quite unappetizing. Many ingredients seemed to be left over from the previous day, which was evident after just one bite. The owner was not present during my visit, and I believe this contributed to the problems I observed. The neglect, unhygienic cooking practices, and slow customer service made this place one to forget.
