#Foodontheroad V Subbaiah Pillai Mess ... Thanjavur Railway Junction area ... It's been my long wait to visit this mess ... Every time it remain closed during Sundays .. So today got opportunity... Decent mess ,, supported and liked by local People .... Today had their idlies , Poori masala set , Dosai roast , Pongal .... Unfortunately vadai was not ready ... Instead of five type chutney , they provided at least three types of chutneys..., They offered Coconut , kara chutney & mint chutney types .. .. Idli were very soft ... 5 idlies costed 50 .. One Dosai roast costed 60 ... it was good .. but I thought that dough could have been a bit smoother ... Poori masala was nice at the price of 40 .. Pongal was nice at the price of 40 .. but I missed the Pongal vadai combo ... We three people consumed these ... They use wood fire to cook .. rare these days .. Their ambiance and hygiene need improvement ... I was informed they have 4 / 5 branches in Thanjavur .. I was so so surprised... I was surprised to know that a nearby branch functions on Sundays too ..
