Visited Thanjai Thambivilas during our Thanjavur trip, and while the ambience and parking experience were pleasant, the food didn't quite live up to the hype--especially considering the price. Food Experience We arrived around 3 PM hoping to try their Biriyani, but it was already sold out. So we opted for the Asaiva Virunth (non-veg feast), which sounded promising but turned out to be underwhelming. While the platter came with plenty of side dishes, most of them were average in taste. They did serve a generous portion of rice, but that alone couldn't save the meal. Pricing Definitely on the expensive side. The package meals feel overpriced for what you get. If you're visiting, I'd recommend skipping the specials and going for something simpler--like chapati with a good gravy dish. Parking & Ambience Parking was smooth, and the attendant was helpful. The overall ambience of the restaurant is quite nice--clean, well-lit, and welcoming. Verdict Thanjai Thambivilas has the looks and the location, but the food--especially the specials--needs to match the price tag. Worth a visit if you're selective with your order.
