The taste was just okay, but I was really disappointed with the quality of ingredients used. I found roots and very poor-quality vegetables in the dishes. One carrot I got was black in color, which clearly looked like a third-quality item from a wholesale market. On top of that, the table was not clean and had sambar stains all over. This shows clear negligence in both food processing and cleanliness. The only saving point was the coffee, which was good. But overall, the food experience was a total disappointment because of the poor quality.

I really loved this place -- it has the charm of an old Tamil-style house, which makes the atmosphere warm and nostalgic. The food is superb and the service is friendly and quick. I ordered masala dosa, plain dosa, vada, and filter coffee. Honestly, the food was so tasty that I ended up drinking 3 filter coffees and having 2 vadas along with the dosas. The dosa was crisp, the chutneys were fresh, and the sambar had that perfect authentic flavor. It's a simple, no-fancy place, but that's what makes it special. I don't know, but I really liked this place -- maybe you will love it too

Walked in on a drizzly evening to the clink of steel tumblers and the hiss from the dosa tawa. No theatrics here--just a fast, old-city canteen rhythm. The dosa came thin with lacey edges, the sambar leaned peppery instead of sweet, and the coconut chutney tasted like it was ground an hour ago. Idlis were cloud-soft; a quick vada arrived crisp without the oil hangover. Coffee had that deep roasty aroma you only get from a strong decoction. Tables turn quickly, runners actually notice when your chutney dips low, and payment is painless (UPI worked). It does get shoulder-to-shoulder at peak time and parking in the lane is a little circus, but the team keeps things moving with good cheer. If you're timing a visit, slip in just before the rush--around 9 am or after 8:15 pm--and order a plain dosa with a side of mini idlis. Eat hot, don't overthink it, and step back into the Trichy bustle feeling a little lighter.

must-visit spot in Tanjore for anyone who appreciates tradition and authentic South Indian flavors! This iconic restaurant, serving since 1976, has recently shifted from South Main Street to a new location near Sivaganga Park--but it has carried its legacy with pride. One of the first things you'll notice at the entrance is the traditional coffee grinding machine, still running strong! They roast and grind their own coffee beans on-site, which adds a special touch and truly elevates their coffee game. The new space is a blend of old charm and comfort. The high ceilings, ample natural light, and spacious layout give it a relaxed and airy feel. Even during peak lunch hours, it was pleasantly cool and welcoming. We tried the sambar rice and curd rice. The sambar rice was flavorful, packed with a generous mix of vegetables, and topped with a drizzle of ghee--comfort food at its best. The curd rice was refreshing, perfectly seasoned with chopped ginger and coriander leaves. Overall, a lovely dining experience with a touch of nostalgia. Highly recommended for both locals and visitors looking for an authentic and heartfelt South Indian meal.

It is a pure vegetarian, beautifully reflects the cultural heritage of the region. The traditional architecture and warm, cordial service create a welcoming atmosphere for all. Delicious South Indian meals, the food is not only rich in authentic flavor but also generous in quantity and excellent in quality. It's a perfect choice for those seeking tasty, wholesome food at budget-friendly prices. The restaurant stands out for maintaining cleanliness, hospitality, and a homely feel. A visit to Coffee Palace promises a fulfilling experience that satisfies both the taste buds and the heart.
