Staying in Ramnathpuram, I casually asked for dinner suggestions and instead of the usual touristy spots, the receptionist lit up and said, "Try the Chicken Idiyappam Kothu from Pooni Mess." I took the advice and I'm so glad I did. The idiyappam was beautifully shredded and perfectly tossed with tender chicken, aromatic masalas. Every bite felt like a burst of local soul and home-style love.

Great spot for meals, biryani, and a wide variety of non-veg side dishes. We specifically asked for fish meals, and they offered unlimited non-veg meals with a small portion of fish roast available at an extra cost--so it's a good idea to clarify the options before placing your order. We tried the kola urundai and squid roast along with the meals, and everything was absolutely delicious. The restaurant is clean and a pleasant place to enjoy a hearty, satisfying meal. PS separate parking is not available but ample space in the road side to park your vehicles.
The staffs were so polite, for small portion of rice, they gave complimentary, and ladies staff were so good, we felt like our family is feeding us. Rate was very good. Fish was awesome.
