I had the opportunity to visit Iyarkai on May 1st, and overall, it was a fairly pleasant experience. The restaurant wasn't too crowded that day, which made for a peaceful and relaxed visit. One of the standout features of Iyarkai is its ambience. The place has been thoughtfully designed with two distinct seating areas--one styled like traditional huts, giving off a rustic, nature-inspired charm, and another air-conditioned room offering a more comfortable indoor dining option. This gives diners the flexibility to choose according to their preference. The infrastructure deserves a mention as well. There's ample parking space for both two-wheelers and four-wheelers, making it convenient for visitors. The restrooms were impressively clean and well-maintained, which is always a plus point. Families with kids will appreciate the children's play area, which adds to the family-friendly vibe of the place. However, the service was slightly slow, with a waiting time of around 20 minutes for the food to arrive. Not a deal-breaker, but something to keep in mind. As for the dining experience, while it was commendable that the plates were served with banana leaves--adding a touch of traditional flair--it would have been nicer if ceramic plates were used instead of plastic ones, which felt a bit underwhelming in an otherwise well-set environment. Coming to the food, it was a mixed bag. The rice and country chicken gravy were decent but didn't quite stand out. The fried curd was also just average. However, the real star of the meal was the Maharani Chicken--it was absolutely delicious, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. This dish alone made the visit worthwhile. Overall, I would rate this as an "okay-ish" experience--a great setting and a standout dish balanced against a few average ones and minor service lapses. With a few tweaks, this place has great potential to offer an even better dining experience.
