Virrunthu - A Solid Option for Non-Vegetarian Delights, but Room for Improvement Located conveniently along the Kolkata highway near Kaverapettai, Virrunthu is a non-vegetarian multicuisine restaurant that offers a comfortable dining experience. The restaurant features a cozy, air-conditioned space with a capacity of around 40-50 seats. This was our first visit, and we were eager to try out their offerings. We opted for a variety of dishes including Mutton Margandam Soup, Mutton Dum Biryani, Chicken 65, Egg Biryani, Curd Rice, and Lemon Soda. The Mutton Dum Biryani stood out as a flavorful and well-executed dish. All other items, including the soup and chicken, were satisfying and cooked to a good standard. Overall, the food was enjoyable, with no complaints on that front. The service was efficient, and the staff was friendly, which made the dining experience pleasant. Parking was also hassle-free, which is always a bonus when dining on a busy highway. However, there is one major issue that needs attention: the maintenance of the restrooms. The toilets are located outside, just in front of the restaurant, and unfortunately, they are not well-maintained. Given the location on the highway, it's crucial for the restaurant to ensure that the restrooms are kept clean and hygienic for the convenience of its customers. Due to this oversight, I'm giving Virrunthu 3 stars. Otherwise, it could have easily earned 4 stars. I hope the management addresses this concern to ensure a more pleasant overall experience for future diners.

I recently visited Virudhu Hotel, and it was a delightful experience for anyone who enjoys authentic South Indian meals. Located in a busy area, the restaurant is very popular, and I could clearly see that during my visit at noon - the place was packed with customers. The crowd itself speaks for the popularity and taste of the food here. Despite the rush, the staff managed everything quite efficiently. Service was quick, the tables were cleaned regularly, and we didn't have to wait too long to be served. The hospitality felt warm and genuine, which is always appreciated in a traditional eatery like this. The highlight, of course, is the food. The meals were delicious, with the right balance of flavors. The sambar, rasam, and curries were authentic, and the variety of side dishes gave a complete traditional experience. The rice was served generously, and refills were done promptly by the servers. The chutneys and accompaniments had that homemade touch, making the meal very satisfying. Prices are reasonable, and the portions are more than enough for a hearty lunch. The atmosphere may feel a little noisy during peak hours, but that is part of the charm of a busy, traditional South Indian restaurant. Overall, Virudhu Hotel is a great place to enjoy authentic Tamil meals at an affordable price. If you're visiting around noon, be prepared for a crowd, but the food and service make it absolutely worth it. Must try - All kind of Briyani and Non veg meals

Really good restaurant. Only thing is, they will close at 10:30. So don't go close to that time.

One of the best mutton soups i have ever tried. We also tried fish meals (thali) which was bang for buck. Quantity is really good and prices are quite less (compared to Mumbai and goa). Even the mutton biryani was really good
