Hotel Sampoorna

Tried chicken biryani and parota with chicken curry. Both items were good and worth try. Only problem is four wheeler parking. Cant do much about the parking issue as the hotel is on main road. Parota was really soft and good. Carry some water on your own as this area has some mineral water bottle concern as per government orders which they follow.

One of the worst place to have food.. They scam you by putting highest price if they find you, you are not from TAMIL NADU... I was shocked to see 400 for 1plate kabab... They completely scammed us and once on finding out, we asked for menu and they did not even provide the menu and started to give excuses... In place of chicken biryani they provided beef biryani and the hand was completely oily with sticky nature which seems to be not a cooking oil... Never ever visit this restaurant nor suggest anyone.its Total scam hotel and night mare for tourists.

Gudalur (Tamil Nadu): Gudalur is a border town between Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala and you are likely to cross this place on your way to Ooty or Waynad from Banglore... I have passed this town several times in the last few years while travelling to Tamil Nadu or Kerala... Now a hungry foodie is always on a lookout for a good place to eat wherever he goes or passes by ... Last year while passing by this place we were hungry and we wanted to eat some good regional home style food (not the typical Idli-Dosa place) and Bingo, we found 'Hotel Sampoorna' .. and ever since then this restaurant has become our permanent pit stop whenever we cross Gudalur.. They serve meals on Banana leaves and serve both Tamil and Kerala influenced cuisine... they also serve some excellent 'tiffin' items like Kadala Puttu, Dosa etc, etc for breakfast and dinner ...This time while passing this place late afternoon we stopped for a coffee (I like my filter coffee strong and the way they serve it is a real visual delight) but then a little chit chat with the owner and we decided to eat something ... we ordered a fish Biriyani which was served hot with a large piece of crispy fish fry in it... the taste was quite nice .. so much so that even after a full stomach we ordered for a repeat .. the restaurant owner is a kind man and served us even as we stood in the restaurant beyond usual meal time ... satisfied as always we started for our next destination ... affordable prices and the quality and quantity is also good. the best part is they explain the portion size and suggest to either reduce or increase the portions according to the portion size and our expectation
