Food was good especially Tomato chutney with idly. Waiting time was longer when we visted however it doesn't look like a regular thing. There wasn't anyone at the coffee counter and we were standing there and the cashier/owner who sits right opposite didn't even mind to call anyone to make a coffee. And an old lady ( staff) who passed by the counter made the coffee just because we insisted and it wasn't that great.
Puri was great but Vada was full of ginger and not so good. Service, especially at the bill counter needs improvement!
Food is actually over rated.... We ordered Adai aviyal- very less taste, Chilly idly- good, paneer dosai- very worst no paneer no taste, Parotta - Good.... And side dishes provided- watery sambar, worst chutney i ever tasted in my life... I think they have only good parotta master.... Also in bill counter needs to improve.... Worst experience.... This you tubers made this place famous and worth for nothing..... Never ever take food here.... Nandri.....
I grew up eating at this place. This place has grown from strength to strength. The authentic taste of South Indian food. Clearly a must eat place. Traditional and average cost. Don't miss the parrotas they make here. Get one and soak it in kurma for a bit and start eating. OUT OF THE WORLD If you're lucky, get their kozhukattais. That's amazing. They have added some North Indian stuff but to me, Dosas and parrathas are the best. If you're visiting chennai, this is a must eat place. Don't expect 5 star standards. Thats a small restaurant.
Food is good. But they tried and tried to switch on the AC. But nothing happened. If they had left the door open, at least there would have been fresh air. In the area outside, seats are cramped. Straight opposite one of the tables, is the washroom.....The lady who clears the plates is in a hurry to clear the plates even as we finish. I sprinted across to another table with my Coffee dabara tumbler, to save my Coffee. Plus coffee was not hot. For all this, the taste is just like any other restaurant. Just travelling on the old name. NO SECOND VISIT.
