The Legendary Ambur Briyani came into exitence as a humble home based business in the 1890's through the expertise of the 'Briyani Legend' Hussain Baig. The secret briyani recipe developed by him in the late 19th century is what has brought success to this traditional family business. He first began selling briyani from his home and in 1932, his son Khurshid Baig opened a small diner in the busy town bazaar and named it Khurshid Hotel, which is still present today. Muneer Ahmed, Nazeer Ahmed's son following his family legacy opened Star Briyani on the Chennai - Bangalore National highway. Star Briyani, today has grown around 34 outlets in india and is expanding internationally.

Biriyani was awesome! The chicken tikka and chicken fried rice were also delicious. They even provided a complimentary water bottle and a sweet (Kesari), which was a nice touch. Overall, a great dining experience with tasty food and thoughtful service.
Got Star Biryani from their origin Ambur. Their receipe is unique and the quality, taste and the quantity of a full bucket was justifiable for the cost. If anyone traveling Ambur / Vaniyambadi you should try the Makkanbeda ehich is another special desert of that region. Enjoyed the authentic Ambur Biryani.
Tried Chicken Biriyani and chicken 65, Biriyani was Good,Authentic Tamilnadu style biriyani. Quantity was less and the behaviour of staff was rude. Cleaning staff was cleaning the floor near to our table while we where eating the smell of phenyl was terrible and told then to move from there more than 2 times. Nobody to take care of this .
Wonderful authentic biryani i tasted... The only thing I felt very bad was their attitude... When 5 to 6 people are coming along with their family they are treated respectfully... When 1 or 2 persons visit they are treated somewhat differently...
I had one mutton biryani (366 including tax). It had 2-3 small mutton pieces and very less quantity of rice. The biryani was good, it had good flavor and the seeraga samba rice was tasty to eat. The pieces were cooked well and were good. But for this price this quantity of biryani is just ridiculous. A highly disappointed experience just because of the price charged and quantity served.
