Ambur Salam Restaurant is the birthplace of Ambur Salam Briyani and the oldest restaurant in Ambur since 1863. Late V Abdul Salam is the founder of famous Ambur Salam briyani. It was all started by his father Late V Abdul Razzack who opened a restaurant in 1863 in Ambur. Along with his father, Late V Abdul Salam managed this restaurant and introduced briyani (with special formulated spices) and made this briyani as a signature dish. With his hardworking nature and dedication he made this Briyani famous across the region and all over India. It was so popular that his restaurant briyani named as "Ambur Salam briyani". He also introduced Semiya paya sherwa, mutton kabab sherwa and tea which became famous and popular dish among the people.

I recently visited Ambur Salam Restaurant and tried their special chicken briyani & Mutton onion chukka pepper fry.. Loved the tasty chicken briyani and the briyani was served hot. Mutton onion chukka pepper fry is amazing in taste. Only suggestion is to reduce oil in Mutton onion chukka pepper fry..other than that everything is amazing.
One of the oldest but recently reopened food joints of Ambur. U can relish some amazing biriyani and the parottas with yummy and hot paaya and other wonderful delicacies. My personal favourite is their parottas with the bheja fry which is the mutton brain fry. U can also try their tandoori chicken
If you are typically looking for North Arcot or Tamil Nadu taste veg and non-veg food with the fresh ingredients then this spot is for you. High quality taste in a decent price. You would get lots of non-veg food here in hot served. Try it. This is one of the old and famous hotel in Ambur. Recommended.
