My recent dining experience at A One Restaurant in Punalur was a mixed affair overall. The taste and quality of the food were both average -- nothing exceptional, but not terrible either. Although there was reasonable variety on the menu, the dishes we ordered didn't quite impress. On the positive side, the service was surprisingly quick; we received food within seconds of ordering it, which was quite impressive. The place was clean and relatively well-taken care of, even if the AC room had a mild unpleasant odor that could have been attended to. The personnel were very hospitable and cooperative, making the experience more pleasant regardless of the food being only "mid." Their politeness and courtesy towards the customers was certainly the best part of the visit. The atmosphere was merely acceptable, partially due to the gray weather outside. Comfortable seating, but otherwise nothing especially colorful or warm about the atmosphere. The one good thing was the pricing -- it was extremely affordable given what was being provided. Would I recommend it? Not really. But if other options aren't available nearby, I wouldn't mind dropping by again. It's a decent place in a pinch, but don't expect anything extraordinary. It's just my opinion....
