Firstly, the ambiance was really good, especially at night--it set nice expectations. But unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. The food taste was quite average and even felt saltless at times. The appam, porotta, and gravy we had were good, but the so-called "special items" turned out to be a complete letdown. Both tasted very similar and didn't feel worth the hype. What bothered us more was that the manager (I assume) insisted on giving us those special items even before we placed our order. Normally, the customer should decide what to eat, but it felt like he pushed those dishes just to make things easier for the kitchen. The portion sizes were small compared to the price, which was on the higher side. Overall, despite the good ambiance, the food and service didn't meet expectations.

A great affordable sea food restaurant with great service as well!! Red/White Snapper from the Live Fish Counter is a must try!! Try their Special Coconut Pudding as well!! You will love it!!

We visited Ranthal in Kannur and honestly, it was a disappointing experience. The customer service was not up to the mark, and while the ambience was good, the quality of the food was poor (our dishes were saltless). On top of that, the place felt overpriced for what we got. One more thing we noticed was that since it was almost closing time, a gentleman who seemed to be the manager insisted we order particular dishes. Later we realized those were nearly the same items, possibly just to make things easier for the staff. Unfortunately, the food turned out to be very disappointing. Not a pleasant dining experience overall.

The place was clean and well maintained . Enjoyed the Onam Sadhya - everything was fresh and tasty. The payasam was just right, not too sweet and a perfect ending to the meal. Overall, a happy and satisfying experience .
