Hotel Odhen's

One of those gems where the locals go purely for the food-- and it does not disappoint (most tourist don't know about this place). While the place isn't particularly aesthetic or fancy, and it's usually quite crowded, that only speaks to how popular and loved it is by locals. It's simple, satisfying, and full of authentic flavors. Oden's is the place if you're in Kannur and want a taste of authentic Kerala cuisine without the frills. Just be ready for a bit of a wait during peak hours -- but trust me, it's worth it. The food is absolutely top-notch. Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor, fresh, and clearly made with care. The seafood was especially impressive -- cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. Service was quick despite the rush, and the staff handled the crowd professionally. If you're looking for a calm, fine-dining experience, this might not be your scene -- but if you're after truly delicious, authentic food at a great price, Oden's is 100% worth it.

Every dish was full of flavor, well-balanced, and made with fresh ingredients. The spices were just right, enhancing the taste without being overpowering. The portions were generous, and the quality of the food exceeded expectations. You can really feel the authenticity in every bite.

Really don't know why the hype! Me being a mangalorean i know i can't expect much but still it was bad ! First of all no waiting area! People will be towering over you so that they can get your seat next! Not many varieties if fish. And just too oily. Only basic fish like mackerel and sardine were good. Squid was like hard rubber! The curries served were average. Overall i can say it was below average. Cheaper than the ones in mangalore though. Thats the only good point about this restaurant.

Dingy place, as expected for Kannur. Not sure if it's safe to eat there. I guess, since food was hot and, allegedly, freshly made, it could keep your stomach from running. But definitely a chaotic place. I see very scant scope for improvement of this place, given where it is located and the dirty surroundings

Tried the meals with ayala fry, prawns fry, and ayakkora fry--honestly, the taste was just okay. Definitely feels overhyped. The place was too crowded, very difficult to get a seat, and the overall experience didn't really feel worth the hassle. If you're expecting something extraordinary, you might end up disappointed. #overhyped #crowded
