We visited Bismi Hotel after reading several positive reviews about their famous mutton dishes, but unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. I tried their Mutton Biriyani, Mutton Perattu with Idiyappam, and Mutton Soup. Sadly, none of the dishes met expectations. The Mutton Biriyani (250) was a total disappointment-- it came with four small pieces of mutton, which felt more like random parts than proper cuts. The rice and masala were bland and lacked the richness you'd expect from a good biriyani. The Mutton Perattu (180) was equally disappointing. The meat was tough and chewy, and the overpowering smell of coriander (malli) masked any real mutton flavor. It just didn't taste like a mutton dish at all. The Mutton Soup was the worst of the lot. It was extremely watery with no aroma or flavor of mutton -- easily one of the most unsatisfying soups I've had in a long time. Overall, none of the dishes had the authentic taste or quality expected from a restaurant known for mutton. It was a total letdown for us. However, the service was polite and professional, which is the only positive I can mention.

A must try This place serves one of the best mutton dishes in Trivandrum and is known for their local ambience and taste. Food is served on a banana leaf. They serve the best quality Mutton and can also buy fresh cut mutton from here, including meat, brain, liver, soup and nalli. They serve the best. I had tried their mutton roast, mutton gravy and Chicken fry along with their Parotta, Idiyappam, Pathiri and their thick gravy. I liked the Mutton Roast ( Perattu) better than Mutton Curry. Their Parotta was also great. The chicken fry was prepared in fresh coconut oil and tasted amazing. I can't tell you the feel after having the mutton, parotta served on a leaf along with a hot piping Chaaya ( Tea).

Had mutton biryani and mutton perattu on my recent visit here. The food was really yummy. I liked the mutton perattu more than the biryani, although the biryani was also pretty good, with soft and tender meat. The service was great. The restaurant is a little hard to locate, as it is situated about 20-30 meters inside the building, from the road. The serve drinking water boiled in dahashamani.
