I m not that experienced to comment a 100 year hotel. When we asked our driver to take us to a good hotel,, We reached there by 8am. Pleasant look. Good ambience. Ordered traditional mangalore buns, masala dosa, poori. All tasty, fresh yummy. Quality good. Little costly.
Had amazing food at MTR Udupi. Tried their signature dish Chandrahara , Fruit mixture. Had special lunch too but felt it wasn't that extra ordinary. Prices are on bit higher side but justifiable for the service and ambitious
Beautiful ambience! The Rava dosa was delightfully crisp and absolutely delicious. The masala dosa was also very good, served with a touch of ghee that enhanced the flavor. The Mangaluru buns were tasty and full of authentic flavor. The lassi was pure and refreshing, and the tea gave a wonderful sense of relaxation. A lovely experience overall!
May 2025: We went here after darshan at the Udupi Krishna Temple. The place is neat and the staff are courteous. The service is quick. The food was tasty. What I liked the most is how they have described the history of MTR. Especially, how the rava idly was invented. I cannot comment on the parking as our taxi driver took care of it
True to its name, MTR awesome restaurant in all aspect. Had special thali and found one of the best. Must try if you are visiting udupi in addition to Woodland/Mitra Samaj for vegetarian food. Ambience is excellent for having mouthwatering food. Tried Premium and Mini meals, Rava idli and items in snap. As it's second visit, prices are revised as in photos. Need to keep washroom clean as it was not during this visit. As we keep recommending this restaurant to our friends in pune and Udupi, request owner to keep the Higiene and quality same.
