Hotel Mahalaxmi Malpe

I recently visited Mahalaxmi hotel in August and they had fresh catch of the day in seafood that they showed to us before taking our order. The service was fast and the food was affordable and good. We ordered 2 varieties of fish along with Fish meal for 5 of us and enjoyed a nice meal. Ambience is decent.

This restaurant is an absolute gem for seafood lovers! The food was outstanding, especially the Anjal Rava Fry -- crisp, perfectly spiced, and simply delicious. They offer a wide variety of fresh fish, and each type comes with 3-4 different preparation styles. The quality is top-notch, and the flavors are truly authentic coastal fare. What stood out was the simplicity of the place. It's not fancy, but the focus is clearly on good food, reasonable pricing, and warm service. The staff were attentive, and the owner himself was extremely helpful -- patiently explaining the different fish types and how each can be prepared. It really enhances the experience, especially for first-timers. One unique aspect is that they bring out a large platter of raw fish for you to choose from, which makes the experience interactive and fun. It's hard to say no once you see the options laid out! They also serve rice water (pez), refreshing buttermilk, and the local lime soda, which is a must-try. Parking is ample, which is always a bonus. Now I understand why this place is rated so highly -- simple setup, great seafood, and a homely vibe. Highly recommended for a true Mangalorean seafood experience!

I visited this place today and I came all the way from Bangalore. Heard a lot about this place in one of Kripal Amanna's youtube video. We tried the following dishes here: 1. Crab Ghee Roast 7/10 - 380/- 2. Marwai Sukka 8/10 - 150/- 3. Melu Fry (Just like Anjal fish) 9/10 - 250/- 4. Kane Tawa Fry 10/10 - 260/- 5. Nang Tawa Fry 9/10 - 140/- 6. Koddai/Kallur Fry 8/10 - 120/- 7. Squid Pepper Fry 5/10 - 200/- 8. Sweet&Salt Lime Soda 7/10 - 40/- 9. Butter Milk 8/10 - 10/- I would highly recommend this restaurant to visit. The hospitality was amazing.

The food, unfortunately, did not meet our expectations. We had ordered the bondas tawa fry, but it turned out to be quite salty and tough to chew. The fish thali was average--nothing particularly impressive.

Found cockroach in the food!!! we ordered chicken manchurian and chicken fried rice along with some other items. Fish taste fine but Found cockroach in the chicken fried rice and some white foam in the chicken. After all this, they didn't took the rice bill but for chicken they took the bill. The owner didn't even felt bad for giving such bad experience rather shown attitude. Better choose to go somewhere good!!!
