We visited for breakfast, and luckily it wasn't too crowded - finding a table was easy. The service was good, though the food could be better, in terms of chutney. Juices were refreshing - we tried pineapple and mosambi, both were really nice .

Located conveniently near the ST bus stand in the heart of Malpe's main market area, Shiv Sagar quickly became the go-to breakfast spot during our 3-day stay. While it may not boast of an expansive breakfast menu, what it offers is honest, comforting South Indian food that reflects the town's laid-back charm. What We Tried: Puri Bhaji My personal favourite. The puris were hot, crisp, and fresh, paired with a slightly spicy, flavorful korma-style bhaji. Comfort food at its best. Don't miss this. Palak Masala Dosa The star of the show! This was one of the most flavourful palak dosas I've ever had. With a base infused with palak curry, it offered a unique twist to the classic dosa. Highly recommended. Cheese Masala Dosa A standard masala dosa with a light touch of cheese. It didn't particularly stand out, but it was tasty and satisfying. Vada Sambar Chutney Unfortunately, this was a letdown. The vadas are made early and served later, so by the time we had breakfast around 10 AM, they were cold and soggy. A clear pass. Idli Sambar Chutney Average and forgettable. The idlis were decent but nothing worth writing home about. Service & Ambience: The service is on the slower side, which could be attributed to the relaxed pace of a small-town life. The restaurant maintains decent hygiene, which is always reassuring. Final Verdict: If you're in Malpe, Shiv Sagar is definitely worth a visit - whether for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It's not fancy, but it delivers good, satisfying food at fair prices. Just stick to the fresher items and you are good to go!!!

Me and my friends visited Hotel Shiv Sagar in Malpe for a quick breakfast. The hotel was spacious with many tables available. We tried veg pulao, idly vada, and avalakki. The food was average, but we liked the avalakki the most. The pulao lacked flavor. Then we tried Mangalore buns, which were average. We also tried puri, and it was good.
