My recent experience at Hotel Kanaiya in Chotila was quite disappointing, and I feel it's important to share so that future visitors are aware. Being located in a busy pilgrim area, one would expect at least basic cleanliness and decent food standards, but unfortunately, this place falls far below expectations. The biggest issue was hygiene. The toilets were in terrible condition -- not cleaned properly, unhygienic, and giving off a foul smell. There was no water available for hand wash, which is a basic necessity, especially for a hotel serving so many travelers. This shows a complete lack of maintenance and care for guests' comfort. Coming to the food, the experience was equally bad. The meals were cooked in very poor quality oil, and you could immediately feel it in the taste and smell. Instead of feeling fresh and satisfying, the food felt heavy, stale, and unhealthy. Even simple items lacked freshness, and the overall quality was far from what one would expect in a place catering to devotees and families. Cleanliness in the dining area was also lacking, and it seemed as though hygiene and customer satisfaction were not priorities here. With so many pilgrims and travelers visiting Chotila every day, such standards are simply unacceptable. Overall, Hotel Kanaiya, Chotila failed to provide even basic hospitality -- from unclean washrooms and lack of water facilities to poor food made with substandard ingredients. I would strongly recommend avoiding this place until they improve their hygiene, food quality, and overall management. Travelers deserve a clean, safe, and healthy environment, especially in such a spiritual and holy destination.
