We had been here enroute to palakkad and is situated just beside the main road. We tried their chicken fried rice, chettinad chicken curry and also tried the tamilnadu special 'egg kalaki'. The quantity in one was enough for two of us.The mess house had a very good ambience and the staffs were very friendly. Fried rice:8/10 Chettinad chicken curry:8/10
We visited Dhanam, Mettupalayam and ordered Chicken Chindamani and Mutton Chukka. The Chicken Chindamani was quite disappointing. As per Kongu-style authenticity, it should be made with chicken and red chilli -- dry and flavorful. But here, the chicken was completely smashed, and only a reddish powder seemed to be added for color. This was definitely not the traditional Chicken Chindamani we expected. Next, the Mutton Chukka portion was surprisingly small -- served in a glass-sized plate with hardly 50-80 grams of meat, priced at 240. When we asked about it, the server just said to check with the counter person, showing no responsibility or courtesy. While the taste was okay, the quantity was very poor for the price, and customer service needs a lot of improvement. Overall, an average experience -- can be much better with proper portion size, authentic preparation, and attentive service.

Some communication issues with our ordering as we ended up with 3 Manchurian dishes (prawn, cauliflower and mushroom) despite only really wanting one! But they were all delicious if a bit hot (spicy). The coconut juice was lovely and helped to cool things down! Good local / authentic restaurant with very obliging staff.
The food was very good and delicious. Prawn thokku is must try. Parotta available only at dinner time. Veg meal does not have much option but it is good taste.
