We visited Madurai in October 2025, and after our homestay host and others highly recommended Shree Sabaris, we were so impressed that we ended up having all our meals here throughout our entire trip! Food Highlights Mini Tiffin (Must-Try Breakfast): This is absolutely essential. We visited during peak hours (9-10 AM), and the tiffin--which includes Pongal (perfectly made with a generous amount of ghee), Dosa, Poori, Idli and Vada--was served piping hot and was incredibly delicious. It was a generous portion, definitely enough to fuel a day of sightseeing. Pro Tip: We noticed the food was freshest and hottest between 9-10 AM. When we visited later (10-11 AM), the taste was still excellent, but it wasn't quite as hot. Lunch (South Indian Meals): A solid and satisfying traditional meal. The spread of rice, sambar, rasam, papadam, payasam and vegetables was fresh and flavorful. Note: extra papadam and payasam are available for a small additional charge (around 5-10). Dinner: We enjoyed the Parotta and Dosa with Vadacurry--it was a great, classic South Indian dinner, consistent in quality with other good restaurants. Service & Atmosphere The staff here are truly wonderful. They were friendly and highly attentive, managing to serve every customer efficiently and with a smile, even during the busiest hours. Location: 5Min walk from station, easy to identify. NOTE: Their are lots of Shree sabarish, we have attached photo of one we went.
