Had been to Legendary Amma Mess at Mudurai for Lunch At peak time it's crowded and hard to find seat . We got place at 1st Floor & AC cooling was not as that of ground floor. I personally felt Meals was far better than Nandhan Palace and Nagarjuna at Bangalore. Coming to Non Veg Mutton and Chicken was of good taste but has same flavour and aroma . Mutton Kheema Was good. Broken chicken fry was good. Fish was of good taste. Mutton Dose was of a variety compared to other places. Service was good was fast. Once negative is that Menu card is all tamil what if a person like me who do not know how to read tamil will order So be progressive in mindset to take consideration of all walks of customer

One of the most popular local food joints in Madurai, Ammas Mess, offers an excellent spread of authentic local cuisine. They have some parking spaces outside. The menu has an amazing spread of local cuisine. The staff were gracious and friendly, and the service was quick. They even offer sundries like mutton kola urundai and chicken and mutton curry with Biryani. The food was excellent, and the cuisine reflected authentic local flavours. Overall, it was an excellent dining experience.

Visited Amma Mess on a Wednesday for lunch around 1 PM. Parking was hassle-free . We ordered meals and, on suggestion, started with the naatukozhi soup - flavorful and warming . Along with the meals, we tried: Crab meat - well-cooked, tasty with the masala Kolu urundai - perfectly done and delicious Nei Meen (fish fry) - crisp, fresh, and really good Overall, a great spot for authentic flavors and a satisfying lunch .

One of the famous eatery in Madurai. Wide range of sea food. First time I am seeing Rabbit Biryani. Crab omelette, crab lollipop. Items are fresh and delicious. Needs some fine tuning (some are less salt, some are not spicy).
