Reliable, pure-veg comfort food right by the temple/seafront circuit. Breakfast flies out hot--fluffy idlis, crisp ghee roast, pongal with a generous ladle of sambar, and vadas that stay crunchy. Lunch "meals" on banana leaf are the highlight: rice, sambar, rasam, kootu/poriyal, appalam, curd--the whole South Indian spread, with quick refills. Dining hall is clean, turnover is fast, and prices are sensible for the location. Filter coffee is strong and finishes the meal perfectly. What I liked: consistent taste, quick service even when it's busy, fresh chutneys, and a family-friendly vibe. Could be better: peak-hour crowding (expect a short wait), tight parking in the lane, and a slightly noisy hall at lunch rush. Good to know: cash/UPI usually accepted; ask for less oil/ghee if you prefer lighter tiffin; chutney/sambar refills are happily given--just ask. Tip: do the sunrise point first, then come here for breakfast before 9:30 am to beat the rush. Secret tip: if available, order the "mini tiffin" (a little of everything) or ask for a bowl of hot ghee on the side--transformative with pongal or dosa.
