SOCIAL KITCHEN -Taste of UDUPI

We ordered open butter podi masala dosa, maddur vada, thatte idly, uddina vada, idly, palak pakkoda, carrot halwa, coffee, and kesari. The food was authentic Karnataka style without compromising on the quality or taste. The quality was also sumptuous. The total bill was Rs 266 which was super budget friendly. The only downside was limited 4 wheeler parking and cramped two wheeler parking. Missed rava idly here. Crowded but we managed to find a seat for 3 with ease. I don't think we can find any other place of this quality and taste anywhere in Coimbatore at this price. Self service, bill at automatic kiosk, and a very clean ambiance.

At afternoon I went to social kitchen keeping in mind that there will be tiffin available, as I thought it was available. The billing counter didn't have a large queue expected. The price was reasonable it was around 150 per head. The waiting time for the food was a little bit longer and there were only limited seats and standing tables were there, but seated capacity is less. Food quality is okayish, it was more artificial kind of food, has a much diffrence than what we have at home. I would give a 3.5/5 for the tiffin

Ordered pongal, sambar vada and coffee, pongal had a diffrent taste personally liked it. Vada on oily side, coffee good filter coffee Nominal rate of food items, taste wise it feels like mysore style but not authentic. Drinking water is placed in difficult to access corner.spoons are kept in steam bath but not switched on which is an serious health issue. Although self service not enough space to sit. Parking is a real difficulty, two wheeler parking on road, car parking is next to impossible Food here has excess amount of oil mostly in all dishes

Social Kitchen at Arasur is a great place for food lovers! The food quality is consistently very good -- fresh, tasty, and worth the price. It follows a self-service system, which works smoothly most of the time. However, the place tends to get quite crowded between 7:30 PM and 9:30 PM, so getting a table during that time can be a bit challenging. Parking space is slightly limited, but manageable if you come a bit early. Overall, it's one of the best spots in the area for good food and a lively atmosphere.

The idea of social kitchen seems to be cost effective good food- yes they get there. But the cost saving comes with a cost. Don't treat social kitchen like your hang out spot. Eat and get out because there is a crowd waiting for you to move out so that they can sit or find a place to enjoy their meals. Get what ever you want in the first go itself as e the queue and ordering will be a headache due to the crowd. So good food and good place but no service - thats the price of cheap but good food.
