Visited Akshy Bhavan, Chengalpattu (opp. bus stand). Taste was average but prices high--especially tea at 30. GST adds more. Service was polite and good, but overall not great value for money.

Worst Experience - A Complete Rip-Off! I had the most disappointing experience at Akshay Bhavan, opposite Chengalpet Bus Stand. I ordered 2 sets of poori with kizhangu as a takeaway, and they charged over 70 for just two tiny pooris with one side dish. While the pricing itself is high, what's even worse is the shocking portion size--the pooris were so small that even a 10-year-old child wouldn't be full. On top of that, the food was extremely oily, making it nearly impossible to eat. If a normal person eats this, they might fall sick, and if a patient eats it, their health could worsen! And to make things worse, the taste was also terrible! The whole point of going to a so-called "big hotel" is for better hygiene and taste, but here, both are a complete failure. I couldn't even digest the food properly--it was that bad! Even small roadside hotels charge between 20-50 but at least provide a decent portion. Some hotels might charge up to 100, but they justify the price with quantity and quality. Akshay Bhavan, on the other hand, is running a food mafia--overcharging customers while giving them nothing in return. There should be strict regulations in the hotel industry, ensuring pricing is fair and quantity matches the cost. If such rules existed, places like this would be forced to treat customers properly instead of exploiting them. I am seriously considering filing a case against them because this level of frustration is not just mine--many others face the same issue. Hotels like this do not respect or value their customers. They treat people cheaply, forgetting that customers are the reason their business exists. In the future, I believe the younger generation will revolutionize the industry with fair pricing, transparency, and customer-first service. Until then, AVOID AKSHAY BHAVAN AT ALL COSTS unless you want to be scammed. This is not just my personal opinion--this is the voice of common people who are tired of being cheated.

Too much dust area. Not neat and clean. Food is below average. Waiter is too rude. When we ask new glass for water, their behavior worst. they think like they are giving food for free of cost.

Worst Experience!! Went to this hotel super hungry and sat in the AC hall where only three people were having a meeting. Despite plenty of free tables with water already placed, one person (likely the owner) told me the hall was "not operational," clearly because he didn't want to be disturbed. When I asked at the billing counter, even the cashier questioned the waiter, but no one gave an explanation or apology. In the end, I just bought a Bailley water bottle , thanks to Bailley at least.
