The Tanjore Tiffin Room, Andheri

Frankly the simple but elegant ambience just made us love it on the first visit. The flowers kept on the table gave it the must needed South Indian vibe. I won't comment or recommend any particular dishes since it was our first time and no dish of ours disappointed. On top of it our server Willy who was from Goa definitely made it more lively and enjoyable for all of us. Just visit and You won't be disappointed.

One of the best food experiences I've had in Mumbai, their mini gunpower idlis are bomb, the idlis being soft and consistent with their texture. The surmai was very well cooked and the sampler helped us pick and customise our choice of curry for the same. The experience is worth everything! Good drinks menu too.

Came here for lunch and the serving sizes are pretty generous so had more than what was needed for 2 people and left with leftovers. The server wasn't kidding when he said the starters are meant to be shared, you fill up pretty easily if you have a starter by yourself. As a lovely surprise you get a curry sampler after starters with 14 options to help you decide on the curry for the main course. I took one star off of food because I've had prawn chettinad that's blown my mind, and this sadly didn't. The oiliness of the food is also something that would prevent me from eating here too often. The service was generally good except for the end when we waited and tried hard to grab a server's attention to call the bill. Overall I'd recommend checking this place out if you're a big fan of South Indian food. I'll be coming back to try out more dishes.

I have been to the tanjore tiffin room in bandra and loved it, so we came by to andheri to try out some more dishes. They had a special christmas menu from which we tried pork belly dish. Having eaten pork belly before, this felt more like pork ribs than belly because we had small bones in the dish. The taste was good though. I again ordered the mutton pepper fry ( as I did last time) and somehow the dish didnt feel as mindblowing as last time. Also ordered the mini idlis and these didnt disappoint. Wanted to try some good authentic sambhar and that was really tasty with sada dosa. The highlight of my meal might have been mysore pak since I have never had one in my life and I am now a fan!
