The ambiance was really good - neat, calm, and pleasant. Serving and cleanliness were also well-maintained. We ordered a non-veg meal and chicken biriyani. The waiting time was quite long. The food quality was just okay and not up to the price. The non-veg meal felt overpriced - most of the curries were served cold, and the fish curry tasted very average. The chicken biriyani had good quantity, but the taste was only average. Overall, the place is neat and has a good ambiance, but in terms of food quality and value for money, it was not satisfying.

Dinner at Prasanthi hotel, Kollam. Today we went to have dinner, at this place, the hostess was pleasant and cheerful. Quickly found us a table, that was the best thing that happened there. The rest was all downhill. There was a long wait for the waiter to take our order, food came very late. Meanwhile, the home grown mosquitoes had a field day trying out all sorts of bites, gentle soft ones, which one would hardly notice, the moderate ones which would make you stop whatever you were doing and the heavy artillery, which when they pounce on you, willl make you scream and jerk up like a jack in the box. Finally the food came, just ordinary bland food without the spicy taste of our local food. One good thing about food it wasn't very salty. The salt was right. We managed to down the oily puri and the bland masala mixed with the sauce left over after the soup. About the soup, it was great! With all the right amount of vegetables and lentils floating in it, and the spices were just right. So how would I rate the experience? Puri oily ones, 4/10, the masala,3/10, but the soup an 8/10, ambience 6/10, the AC 7/10 and the cost 8/10, Puri & masala: 4/10, waiters:5/10, overall satisfaction : 6/10. I stayed at Prasanthi Hotel for few nights while traveling Kerala, and honestly it was really good choice. Location is amazing, just few mins walk to the beach and not far from the station so easy to move around. Room was clean and comfy, had good AC, WiFi worked fine and bed was big and soft. Blackout curtains helped me sleep even in the day time after long travel. Felt safe too with locker inside room. Breakfast was very nice, lot of mix--Kerala food plus some usual continental stuff. I loved trying the local dishes, but nice to have toast and eggs too. Staff were super friendly, always ready to help and smiling. Small things like giving directions or helping with bags, it makes you feel welcomed. somewhere near beach, safe and comfortable, I would surely recommend Prasanthi Hotel.
