Prasad Hotel Mulbagal Dosa

I recently made the 100km journey from Bangalore to the iconic Prasad Hotel Mulbagal Dosa in Mulbagal, known as the birthplace of the famous Mulbagal dosa. With a new bike in tow, it was the perfect excuse to take it for a spin! The roads were mostly smooth with a few diversions, making for a pleasant ride. Upon arrival, we dived straight into the Special Mulbagal Dosa (4/5). This one comes with ghee (as opposed to oil in the regular version) and was absolutely delicious. The dosa had the perfect crispness on the edges, while remaining soft and delicate in the center. The aloo palya inside was flavorful and perfectly cooked. It's a lovely, authentic experience, and honestly, I think this one beats a lot of similar dosas I've tried in Bangalore! Next up was the Plain Special Mulbagal Dosa (4.5/5). This dosa is top-tier, and in my opinion, could easily be in the top 5 dosas in the world! The texture was perfect, with no sogginess or mushiness from the aloo palya, which sometimes happens in other places. Highly recommended! We also tried the Special Idli (3.5/5), which is a thatte idli served with ghee and podi. The idli was soft and fresh but didn't blow me away. I do think it could have had a bit more podi for flavor, and the fact that it wasn't drenched in ghee was a nice touch. Finally, we tried the Special Podi Dosa (3.5/5). It had the same podi as the idli, and while it was crunchy on the outside and soft inside, I felt the podi could have been spread a bit more generously. Still, it was a great dosa overall. A few things to note: Prasad Hotel closes by 12 p.m., and their dosas tend to sell out by around 10:30 a.m., especially on weekends. So, make sure to arrive early! The hosts were friendly and welcoming, and while the seating space is a bit small, the restaurant feels larger once you're inside. One downside is the lack of parking -- bikes can manage on the road, but be cautious of the busy main road and its crowded nature. All in all, a wonderful experience and a must-visit for dosa lovers. I'll definitely be coming back for more!

It's not a huge shop it can sit 10-12 members at once. Evenings it will be free must try their special ghee masala dosa & special onion dosa. They even have thatte idly & lemon rice.

Food is great. You have different options for breakfast. But there is not much seating arrangement. You have to stand and eat. On the weekends it's too crowded and there's less to no parking space especially for a car. You can park a bike nearby but a car can't do.

Please note the direction map shows reach there and walk 1 min more to the corner of the street to find this place. Have tasted Special mulbagal dosa which was crispy, with good amount of ghee/oil and stuffed with palya and 2 chutneys along side. Dosa was good but I failed to notice much difference between normal masala dosa and mulbagal one. Apart from the size and shape of the dosa. We even rated chitranna which was good. For the prices, the quality is good and worthy. We got Athreyapuram putarekulu takeaway box, it's highly sweet so mixed opinion so far on this.

Every time I visit Banglore, I make sure I visit this place and it is worth it!! You need to start early for this and reach there around 8 o'clock so that the rush is less. We had their authentic/ unique Masala Dosa + Onion Dosa which which are so "bisi bisi" (hot) that you won't be able to hold it on your hand. Yes they offer you an additional plate for that . You can also have thatte idli and rice (chitranna) to end the meal. Do try their snacks items which are available on the counter for sale they are also as good as the food. Enjoy!
