Good and verg fast service. The food served is fresh - the puri were hot and fluffy and the tea was very very good. The manager was quite attentive- he saw that we liked our poori but was missing aloo ki sabji as they served 2 different preparations for the sabjee with the poori (one coconut chutney and the other mix vegetables in South Indian preparation) so he asked us if we wanted aloo and provided us with aloo masala separately without charge. Thank you, much appreciated!
Very nice restaurant and is a great rest stop for travelers on the highway. The place was neat and clean. Lot of ladies were managing the place including the cashier. We had tea / coffee and visited the shop attached to the restaurant. Restrooms are available and they were neat and clean. There is good parking for buses and vehicles. Overall, it is a good restaurant for people to stop by and have food..
I stopped at this place for having breakfast here while I was going to Sakleshpur. The restaurant is neat and tidy and the food is good. Tea was good as well. Good place for having breakfast.
Vada Pav was already made and was not hot. Expected Bonda to be hot. Can't expect to be hot as well since they need to serve quickly. Cost is Rs. 70 which is expected because the hotel is opened at night. The washrooms are pretty well maintained. I have issues only with the food I had.
I visited Kamath Upachar at late night while travelling to Shimoga. This seems to be a common stop for most KSRTC and private buses for dinner or a short break. It appears to be one of the few (if not the only) pure vegetarian restaurants open late on the Hassan highway. The food options available at night are quite limited -- mainly idly, vada, bajji, dosa, fried rice, fruit bowls and tea/coffee. Taste was just okay. Nothing special, but does the job if you're hungry. One downside was the cleanliness, the toilets weren't well-maintained and not hygiene. Still, it's a convenient stop when you're on the road and don't have many choices that late.
