I had a 5-star experience at this restaurant in Honnavar, with exceptional food, service, ambiance, and location. The idlis, vadas, and puris were all delicious, showcasing authentic Udipi-style flavors. The service was prompt, and the prices were remarkably reasonable considering the quality and quantity. I highly recommend this spot to first-time visitors to Honnavar - it's a must-try for a flavorful experience!"

From the towering monoliths of Yana, we descended once again into the warm embrace of the coastal plains and made our way to Honnavar, where the Sharavathi River slowly makes its final journey to meet the Arabian Sea.
Our stomachs were staging a small rebellion by then, so the sight of a board that read "New Rameshwaram" felt like divine intervention. I was excited--could this be an offshoot of the wildly popular Rameshwaram Cafe from Bengaluru?
No. It wasn't.
But judging by the crowd waiting outside, I clearly wasn't the only one who fell for the name. The place was buzzing. A waiter gave me that apologetic smile and said, "15 minutes wait, sir."
While I was wandering around, trying to figure out whether to wait or look elsewhere, one of the owners noticed me asking questions and probably decided the best way to silence my curiosity was to seat me immediately--in their brand-new air-conditioned dining hall, which, he casually mentioned, was only opening the next day. Win!
Grinning like I had just found a cheat code in a video game, I sat down and ordered a fresh lime soda and their South Indian Thali.
The food was a comforting spread--steamed rice, sambhar, rasam, vegetable palya, kootu, curd, pickle, papad, and a warm gulab jamun to round things off. The flavors had that unmistakable Udupi touch--mild, balanced, and slightly sweet, the kind that tastes like home if you grew up anywhere in coastal Karnataka. I asked for dhal powder and ghee, and they brought it with a smile that seemed like the restaurant's true secret ingredient.
Post-lunch, we sat quietly for a few minutes by the riverbank, watching Sharavathi's waters shimmer in the sun--gentle, wide, and unhurried, just like the day.
With hearts and bellies full, we headed back to Gokarna, ready for the evening visit to the Atma Linga Temple, which promised an entirely different kind of nourishment.
