Born in UP, brought up in Punjab - probably this is how one can sum up the Chawla's Chicken. It all started one day at Haldwani in District Nainital. Late S. Attar Singh Chawla was trying to improve upon one of his favorites recipes in the restaurants in his free time when he ended up with the one Chawla's Cream Chicken.

This all came with the non veg executive chicken tali. But all of the two veg in the thali tasted like the gravy in butter chicken. The 1st one is carrot and peas in butterchicken gravy. The 2nd one is rajma in butter chicken gravy. Atleast put different vegetable like aloo fry or bhindi fry in other compartment. This was pure laziness from the cook. Putting butter chicken gravy in all the dishes. Will be never coming back.
Visited Chawlas2@Naharlagun after it's reopening with family. The cleanliness and food quality has improved a lot. Anyone looking for genuine North Indian food may visit and enjoy the delicious food.
Don't go there. Today I went there and ordered a plate of Pork fried rice and when they served me I kid you not they served me with uncooked pork with hairs all over the outer skin . And when I had the chunks of the pork it gave a stinking stench of a raw meat. It blew my head off. When I left the place I regretted that I had not taken a picture of the hairy pork meat to upload it in here.
Visited twice and was disappointed every time. The food is pathetic despite being higher on the price and with the Brand name they carry. P.S. attaching a photo of "Chicken Pulao" that I had ordered during my second visit. It was NOT a Pulao rather just boiled rice sprinkled with turmeric and minced chicken, more like a fried rice. But the roadside vendor sells better than them. Not recommended if someone who's on a budget yet wants to have good food. Visiting here would just burn your pockets but won't do a cent of justice to the price on which the food items are sold. Not recommended for anything.
As always expected from Chawala,s the food quality is preety awesome ,but service need to be taken care ! Btw perfect place to eat northindian food in northeast Thanku
