Had a very nice and warm dining experience with my family. The waiter was attentive and welcoming, and even when my mother accidentally broke a glass, he handled it very calmly. I think his name was Joluk -- he truly deserves a raise! We always love having hotpot here; it's always tasty, worth the price, and made with authentic ingredients. Also, absolutely loved the new coconut cake on the display

Visited the restaurant on Valentine's Day and found it to be extremely crowded. While the ambiance is supposedly pleasant on regular days, the overwhelming number of guests that evening made it less enjoyable. Despite the rush, we managed to get a seat, though the experience felt a bit chaotic.
The food was mostly good, especially the fried rice and chicken dumplings, which were flavorful and well-prepared. However, the pork ribs were a major disappointment. Priced at 700, only two pieces were served--one being a small rib and the other just a chunk of pork fat. Unlike the crispy ribs we've had at other places, these were served with gravy and didn't taste as expected. Similarly, we had ordered pork Shapta but were mistakenly served chicken Shapta instead. While the taste was decent, the mix-up was an inconvenience.
There was also some confusion with the billing, as an extra item was mistakenly added. It took some time to get it rectified with the staff, which was a slight inconvenience.
The evening featured live performances by local artists, and some of them were genuinely enjoyable. There were also small competitions for couples, with gift hampers given out, which added a nice touch to the celebration. However, one aspect that could have been handled better was the interaction led by the anchor. Couples were asked to share their love stories on the spot, and while some found it entertaining, others seemed uncomfortable. It would have been more considerate to ask beforehand if guests were willing to participate rather than putting them on the spot.
Another observation was that the event appeared to revolve primarily around the owner and a small group of their friends. The cake-cutting, dancing, and loud celebrations seemed exclusive to them, while the rest of the guests were more like spectators. While it's understandable that they wanted to enjoy the occasion, a more inclusive approach would have made the experience better for everyone.
Overall, while some aspects of the evening were enjoyable, certain areas--especially service efficiency and event execution--could have been better managed.

amazing experience dining at choewang's, their staff is always so attentive and welcoming. The food we ordered was pizza, japchae, mandugukk and shaphaley and it was soooo delicious. Perfect for a little spice and warmth in the rainy days

We had dinner at Choe Wang's last night, and while the food and ambiance were good, I had a disappointing experience with their dessert and customer service.
Since we were too full to eat dessert at the restaurant, we asked them to pack an apple pie and a cheesecake to take home. I stored both in the refrigerator as soon as we got back. The next day, when I took them out, I was shocked to see that the apple pie had mold on it, while the cheesecake was fine. This raised serious concerns about the freshness of their desserts.
I called the restaurant to inform them, expecting at least a basic apology, but instead, they questioned whether I had kept it in the fridge. That response felt dismissive and unprofessional. Freshness and quality control are crucial in any restaurant, and this experience made me doubt their standards. While they did offer a complimentary slice next time, the way they handled the situation left a bad impression.
Good food and ambiance matter, but so does customer service and food safety. I hope they improve how they handle such situations and ensure their desserts are fresh and properly stored before being served to customers.

We had a wonderful birthday dinner at Choe Wang!
The staff were incredibly kind and well-mannered, making the experience even more special. We requested a custom cake, and they made it perfectly--it was absolutely adorable! They also played the Happy Birthday song during the cake cutting, clicked videos for us, and even surprised the birthday girl with a complimentary cake.
It was a lovely evening spent with friends, and we truly enjoyed the warm hospitality. The only downside was that the lighting wasn't the best for pictures.
(!!PS: Avoid ordering the lobster platter (4K)-definitely not worth it!! They serve just one lobster with a massive portion of fried rice and nothing more. However, the barbecued meat platter was amazing and absolutely worth it!)
