Komala Tiffins

We ordered from Swiggy. 02-Oct-25 We had ordered 2 plates puri , idli and Pongal but when we received the order the Pongal wasn't there instead upma was there , which inedible and uncooked they took leftover idlis and mixed it with ghee and mashed them, 2 puris are completely oily and uncooked, idly was okay but the chutneys were bad and sambar was not even sambar it was turmeric water with some dal in it , I have never had this much worst food.

Komala Vilas on Trunk Road, Nellore, is a well-known spot among locals, especially for its signature sambar. They offer a good range of South Indian tiffins, including various types of dosa, idly, and the much-loved mini idly with sambar. One must-try item is the sambar vada -- crispy vadas perfectly balanced with their rich, tangy sambar. It's easily one of the best in the area. Overall, the food is of good quality, though some may find the prices a bit on the higher side for a self-service outlet. They've recently started accepting UPI payments, which is a welcome upgrade from their previous cash-only policy. There's a small tea and coffee stall outside the hotel -- handy for a quick caffeine fix. The place operates on self-service only, and there's no seating available -- it's standing-only for dining. One downside is the wash area, which is not very hygienic and could use better maintenance. For takeaway orders, customers often feel that the amount of sambar provided is insufficient, especially considering it's one of their main draws. In conclusion, Komala Vilas is a must-visit if you're a fan of traditional sambar, especially for items like sambar vada and mini idly sambar. While service and hygiene could improve, the food quality and nostalgic taste keep customers coming back.

Awesome!! Had been advised by friends to try it! I have ordered mini iddly& sambar, Ghee Kara dosai & Set dosai. Iddly sambar is hot & tasty. Asked a cup of chutney which was given without any murmur though it's not compulsory. Set dosa is again served HOT & it melts down in your mouth withkara korma. I felt appa mavu, coconut milk is added for flavour. Superb!! Ghee Kara dosai is must try item!! Hot roasted dosa bubbling with ghee is heaven!! The prices are damn cheap!! All for Rs.155/- ( a soup costs more in a fine dining restaurant nowadays) I don't have enough space in my stomach to try their chapathi & Parota. Overall I can give 5/5 for the experience. A must try place while in Nellore.

Awesome place for breakfast in Nellore. Portal is must have and karam is a good too. Chutney is well made with little spicy. Must visit place if Ur in Nellore.

Clean and classic tiffins. We have tried set dosa and onion dosa. Both were good and Idly was not available by 9PM.
